This was the study for the larger painting. I never thought I would be the person to do a study first.. but sometimes you do learn eventually. A nice quick study gets your eye in, your colours right and then you are ready to bang out something larger. I like to take my time, really getting to know a subject before I tackle a huge painting. It's actually physically exhausting to recreate your large brushstrokes from small to big scale. I often just have to get my hands in there and make it happen... (Gloves of course...I'm not that into Chromium poisoning)
